jennifer o'connor* is having a big summer sale! her latest album is still, months and months later, one of my absolute faves, and frankly, i can't think of anybody i know who wouldn't find something to love there. understated and affecting. i still haven't heard her and i was at love gardan yesterday selling cd's (damnit i should have read your blog before leaving the house, ha). i am so digging on the "new moon" cd. as sad as it is that elliott smith is no longer with us, at least this collection will always be with me. i have been listening to that spoon cd regularly since i've owned it. "chicago at night" always reminds me of living there and visting there all at the same time. do you know i have an ida 45 that i bought in st. louis when we went to see jenny toomey & the karate guy w/my mom? were we like 15? was that the summer you learned to hate my incessant everything but the girl cd listening? i've been really nostalgic lately.
